Park Guell Opening Hours and Timed Entry
The Monumental Zone, the iconic part of Park Guell with the mosaic terrace and the serpent bench, runs on timed entry with a strict daily cap. Knowing the hours and how the slots work is the single best way to avoid arriving to a sold out gate.
Daily opening hours
Park Guell opens early in the morning and closes in the evening, with longer hours in spring and summer and shorter hours in the depths of winter. As a rough guide, expect opening around 9:00 to 9:30 in the morning and last entry in the late afternoon. The exact times shift through the year, so always confirm on your booking confirmation for the day of your visit.
The surrounding wooded park outside the Monumental Zone is free and open longer, but it does not include the famous Gaudi terraces and viewpoints.
How timed entry works
Entry to the Monumental Zone is by 30 minute slots, and you must arrive within your slot window. Once inside you can stay as long as you like until closing. The daily number of tickets is capped to protect the site, which is exactly why popular slots sell out days in advance in high season.
When to book your slot
For early morning light and the smallest crowds, book the first or second slot of the day. If you prefer softer afternoon light for photos, a late slot works well outside summer. In July and August book several days ahead, and over major holidays book as soon as your dates are fixed.
Frequently asked questions

Is part of Park Guell free?
Yes. The wider wooded park is free, but the Monumental Zone with the mosaic terrace and serpent bench requires a timed ticket.
